As a Cantonese, my childhood mornings were often spent in teahouses with my family. The experience of yum cha(叹早茶)—Bathering around a table, enjoying tea, enjoying dim sum, and sharing stories. Those moments were filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. However, as I grew older and life became more fast-paced, these moments of stillness and togetherness slowly faded. The simple joy of “one teapot, two delicacies” (一盅两件) became a nostalgic memory, overshadowed by the rush of modern living. Through this project, I hope to rekindle “Slow Down Enjoy The Moment”. Yum cha (叹早茶) is not merely about food, it is about creating space for human connection, pausing in the rush life and rediscovering the beauty of every moment. I hope to inspire others to slow down, appreciate the present, and embrace the joy of being together.
